Like most companies producing in Germany, we are members of the Dual System Germany This means that we contribute to the recycling of the packaging materials we use. By optimising the selection of suitable packaging, we strive to minimise the overall packaging volume. For smaller order quantities, we use bio-film bags made from renewable raw materials, compostable according to DIN EN 13432. (see certificate)

As a family business, we know that every decision we make also affects future generations. The careful treatment of nature and the environment is just as important to us as appreciative collaboration with employees and suppliers. Thereby, the focus of our joint work is on the needs of our customers.
Commitment to the German location
We live and work in Germany. All DORTEX products are "Made in Germany". This saves us long delivery and decision-making routes. Despite high personnel costs, we are able to keep up with the price level of our competitors who produce in low-wage countries and at the same time meet our high quality standards for products and customer advice. This balancing act is made possible by a high level of technical know-how in our own company. Thus, we are able to automate the processes from ordering to delivery to a large extent and keep production costs within reasonable limits.

As a German company, we naturally comply with German and European legal standards.
Sustainable raw materials
We source the raw materials we need from Germany wherever possible. For our Corinera leather labels, for example, we use natural leather from young German bulls, tanned with natural mineral and plant substances that are free of harmful substances; for our wooden labels, we use the local woods beech and poplar.
However, we also need raw materials that are not available in Germany, e.g. cotton. When weaving cotton ribbons,
the technical requirements for the yarns are very high. Only particularly long-fibred types of cotton are
suitable for this. So far, there is no organic cotton on the market that meets the technical requirements
for woven labels. For Cottonera woven labels, we use Upper Egyptian, hand-picked, combed and gassed cotton
fine thread in 1A long staple (Giza quality - Gossypium barbadense). The further processing and
dyeing of the raw cotton takes place at our German partner under certified conditions.
For the production of our professional care labels Cotton we source certified, undyed organic
cotton yarn from our German partner.
We weave our Flexinera labels with a high proportion of recycled polyester yarns (approx. 50% rPET). Our professional care labels in the Basic and Color versions are made of 100% rPET. Further products made from sustainably produced materials are currently in the development phase.
Sustainable shipping
Of course, our short production and shipping routes also benefit the environment. Leftovers from production, e.g. our laser-engraved metal labels, are recycled.
