With professional care labels you show at a glance who made the garment, what it is made of and how it should be cared for. This keeps your clothing care labels in line with common labelling rules and gives your customers clear wash care information directly on the garment. Wash symbols & compliance

When you use wash symbols, your care label should cover all five standard categories: washing, bleaching, drying, ironing and professional cleaning. You simply choose the appropriate wash symbols and the configurator arranges them automatically in the correct order used on international clothing laundry labels. This keeps your care labels clear and consistent, even with fully custom designs.

Materials & certifications

For professional care labels you can choose three sustainable materials: Basic and Color in recycled polyester satin (rPET), and Cotton in undyed organic cotton. All versions are durable, lightfast, abrasion-resistant and washable up to 60° C. Care labels black on natural

  • Material & look: undyed certified organic cotton with a natural fabric texture
  • Print & layout: single-color print for text, logo and wash symbols; work well as both fiber composition labels and wash care labels on natural textiles
  • Size: width 35 mm, height set in production so you can cut and sew the labels easily
  • Delivery & sewing: delivered on a roll for you to cut; cut edges may fray, so you sew Cotton labels best with the narrow edges caught in the seam or folded in
  • Certificates: tested by Bremer Environmental Institute to DIN EN 71-3 and additionally certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 by Hohenstein Institute

What information must appear on clothing laundry labels?

Most clothing laundry labels show your brand or manufacturer, fiber content and at least one safe cleaning method. In the US, the FTC Care Labeling Rule requires a permanent care label with clear instructions for washing, bleaching, drying and ironing. You can add extra details like size or origin and keep symbols or text easy to read.

Are wash care labels with symbols mandatory in the US?

Care labels are mandatory, wash care symbols are not. The FTC lets you use text, symbols or both, as long as you describe at least one safe cleaning method for the garment. Many brands choose universal washing symbols on tags so cleaners and customers understand the wash care label quickly.
