Design your Cottonera® cotton labels
Cottonera woven labels and name tapes are incredibly versatile. From classic care labels to personalized labels for your handmade creations, they are always woven in two colors. You can order them in your preferred length, choose between sew-in or iron-on application, and customize many other details. Our highly precise configurator ensures that your finished woven clothing labels arrive exactly as you designed them. Please note that slight color variations may occur due to your screen settings.
Good to know before you start sewing: Our Cottonera labels are made from 100 % cotton (except for the gold and silver lettering colors) — a natural material that feels wonderfully soft but does not allow for sealed edges. That's why these labels should always be sewn in with folded ends to prevent fraying. Don't worry — we automatically add the extra seam allowance for folding, so your labels are ready to sew in.
If you choose Cottonera Nova with end folds, you don't have to worry about folding the ends yourself — the labels arrive fully prepared and ready to sew in. The same applies to Cottonera Classic with an iron-on backing. Since these labels are applied directly with an iron, no folded ends are needed.
If you'd prefer labels without folded ends, choose textile label made from recycled polyester yarns, such as our Novinera woven labels. Because their edges are heat sealed, polyester labels won't fray.
Cottonera Basic and Cottonera Classic have been tested by the Hohenstein Institute in accordance with the requirements of the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. In addition, both variants have been tested and certified by the Bremer Environmental Institute for suitability for use in children’s toys (DIN EN 71-3).

Cottonera® - The differences
Cottonera Basic
Cottonera Basic woven labels are only available in the 10 mm width with a red font on a white background. This is the most frequently ordered version of our cotton labels and we are able to offer it at a particularly low price. There is only one font available and no motifs, but you can choose whether you want them in the sew-on or iron-on version. These are usually used as the typical name labels to mark clothing. But they also work well as retro labels for handmade items.
Cottonera Classic
Cottonera Classic labels are the perfect beginner label for anyone who wishes to label handmade items in an attractive and low cost way. Weaving on the shuttle loom gives the Classic labels their particularly attractive structure. Cottonera Classic labels can also be ordered for ironing on and are certified in accordance with DIN EN 71-3, making them suitable for the manufacture of children's toys.
Cottonera Nova
Cottonera Nova combines modern weaving technology with 100% cotton. Our top product in cotton is woven in widths of 15 mm and 25 mm. You can choose from strong background and font colors, use our fonts and motifs or upload your own logo. You can cut and fold the labels by yourself or we will do the cutting and folding on your behalf.
