Our Cork Fabric

Cork is one of the most sustainable materials available. A cork oak tree takes 25 years before it can be harvested for the first time. Afterward, it regenerates and can be harvested again every nine years. The cork we use comes from Portuguese cork oak forests, which play a vital role in carbon storage — absorbing about 30 % more CO₂ than conventional trees.

Our cork fabric consists of a thin natural cork layer bonded to a backing material for durability. While a fully plastic-free option is not yet available, the supporting fabric is a combination of PU (polyurethane), PES (polyethersulfone), and cotton. All materials are certified toxin-free.

Each cork hangtag has a natural brown backing and is approximately 0.8 mm thick. While cork is highly resistant to moisture and heat, we do not recommend machine washing. The hangtags are precisely laser-cut, with engraved motifs and text creating a slightly burnt edge effect that enhances the organic charm of the material.
